Vitamins are important to keep your body healthy. So goes for your hair. There are vitamins in which you can take to keep your hair healthy and to prevent hair loss. Vitamin B is essential for preventing hair loss. Other vitamins that could be beneficial to your hair are folic acids, magnesium, biotin, sulfur, zinc and inositol.

Scientists have observed in a controlled experiment using lab animals that when given these vitamins, there was a decrease in the thinning hair. The lab animals with a diet low in magnesium have experience hair loss in patches. While lab animals in a diet low in inositol or biotin could be seen to have lost all of their hair.

Vitamin A is also good for hair growth. A lack of Vitamin A in the system could cause dry skin and hair. But be warned. Too much Vitamin A intake could cause hair loss as well. More than 25,000 IU taken daily is toxic for your body. So take any vitamins or any medication for that matter in moderation. Vitamins should always be taken as directed on the bottle and not more than the stated dosage. They must not be abused.

Vitamin C can help maintain skin and hair health. Vitamin E helps enhance the circulation of your scalp. It increases oxygen uptake of our body. Vitamin E is believed to enhance our immune factions thus help improve the health of our hair. It seems to retard the aging process of hair. Biotin is a member of B Vitamin group. Biotin or often-called Vitamin H produces keratin and could also help prevent graying and stop hair loss. Inositol is also a member of the B Vitamin group. It helps keep follicles healthy. Niacin or Vitamin B3 also promotes scalp circulation. Panthothenic Acid or Vitamin B5 prevents graying and also control hair loss. Vitamin B6 helps create melanin, which gives the hair its color. Vitamin B12 prevents hair loss as well.

Calcium is critical for healthy hair growth. When calcium is taken with magnesium, the effects are more beneficial for your hair. Chromium can indirectly help stop hair loss as well. It helps prevent hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, which are cause for hair loss. Copper could help prevent defects in hair structure and color as well as prevent hair loss as well. Care should be taken when taking in copper. When abused, this could lead to hair damage and hair loss as well. Iodine could be taken to avoid hair dryness and hair loss. Manganese makes hair grow faster. Potassium regulates blood circulation of the scalp thus providing healthy hair growth. Selenium makes the scalp elastic and supple. Silica strengthens the hair.

Vitamins for hair loss could be as simple as having the right diet. Having the proper nutrition is the best way to prevent hair loss. Eating right could help you achieve your goal. Eating vegetables every meal such as carrots, peas, beans and cauliflower can help you keep your hair. Some fatty acids found in salmon oil, flaxseed oil and primrose oil improves hair texture.
