This is because years ago, hair loss used to be a common problem among men only. But now, women, from all walks of life, are also victims of this hair dilemma. Although many hair loss products for men are sold worldwide, this does not mean that it could be used by women as well. Since women have various reasons why hair loss happens which is different from men’s, the remedies should also be different as well.

One of the hair loss remedies specially created for women is the Minoxidil. It is an active ingredient that is commonly seen in hair loss products used for men. However, there is only a certain percentage of minoxidil that is perfect for the thinning hair of the women. Only two percent of minoxidil is recommended to be used by women, while stronger percentage of minoxidil is recommended for men. But there are ongoing researches to know if higher percentage of minoxidil can work for women too. Minoxidil is one of the few chemicals approved by the FDA to treat hair loss. It is usually used as a topically applied product. 

Pills for hair growth that should be taken orally are not advisable hair loss remedies for women. Some of these pills contain androgen, male hormone, which may cause internal complications or further hair damage for women. Additionally, these anti-hair loss pills may cause side effects to nursing mother or pregnant women. It will affect not only the mother but the child as well. If the mother-to-be still persists to take these pills during her pregnancy, there could be some physical birth defects and other internal defects that might happen to the unborn child. Is there are topically applied products that are not advised to be used by a pregnant or a nursing mother, how much more if it is a product that must be taken orally? 

Going for a hair spa to get an aromatherapy for the hair and the scalp is a prevalent treatment for women experiencing hair loss dilemma. These establishments that offer hair spa use natural and essential oils that are proven to be very beneficial to the growth of new hair. Here, the scalp is massaged using these oils to promote blood circulation. These oils are also used as topical solutions on the scalp giving out a very promising result. Out of eighty women who tried hair aromatherapy, there are at least forty-four who claims that they have seen improvement and visible results after seven months of consistently having a hair spa treatment. However, one must continue to use the essential oils for their hair and scalp until they reached their desired result.
